After 12 years our old machine is almost on its last leg. We are thinking about getting a new one but can't decide which one. We were lending towards a Kenmore but which model. We know that we want a top loader not a front loader. Any one with a good one let me know. Or which one not to buy. Thanks

I would strongly urge you to reconsider the front loaders. The time and energy savings will pay for the new set within a year. We switched to a Bosch and it happened to be on the day the meter was read. Between water and power bill, the set was paid for in 4 months. I kid you NOT! Have a box built to raise them to a comfortable height so you won't stoop so much and you'll be a believer too. Did I mention time savings? They hold more than you think and process it in a lot less time.

Sorry I don't have recommendations on top loaders....they are very rough on your clothes....my recommendation would be the Kenmore elite front loaders I love it.it's very quiet, and energy efficient, it does not need as much water as a top loader needs. Good luck in finding what you like....Before I purchase anything I usually look for reviews on a product on line to see what the majority of the purchasers are saying. Its very helpful!

I don't think you can beat Kenmore appliances, I think any would be good depending on what special options if any you want, I always want one with an extra lg. load et permanent press cycle to take out wrinkles, but some things you never use, soak, pre wash, etc. , depends on what you really will use, but you can't beat a Kenmore, I;ve had Maytag and Whirlpool, but always return to Kenmore
