What benefits are entitled to married couples?

I think anyone should be able to get married to whomever they want, as long as both parties want it. I'm not saying that 16 year should be able to marry a 48 year old, that's wrong. Age really should be the only factor in a marriage, to a point anyways.

well the con could be if you want children and don't have any'' with a same sex marriage you would have to adopt and some states wont allow that .. for the pro if you don't want kids you wont have to worry about having any... plus most states wont recognize a same sex marriage.. so when or if you split up you don't have to worry about them taking half of what you own... on the down side if they were to be put on life support you have no say in what happens to them that is left up to the next of kin.. which by law there partner is not .. because they are not married.. plus they have all the promblems of being married with out any of the comments or benifits

PROS:
The happiness of the married couple (joy of marriage)
The ability to inherit from each other
Ability to file joint tax returns
Widow's Pensions/Social Security Survivor's Benefits
Free burials for veterans and spouses
Life Insurance - no one can contest if parties are married
Health Insurance can cover both spouses
I can't think of any 'cons', except for the objections of some within the religious community, and perhaps a stigmatic/stereotypical reaction from neighbors with children.

If you marry someone around the same size as you, you double your wardrobe right there!

ok i think girls can marry girls but guys cant marry guys becuase thats just a major turn off to guys lol

they might be permitted to adopt children, and because they have no religious limits they might have sex with babies.
