I believe that it depends on the type of shot that was administered. It's usually pretty normal to have some sort of bump (not too large or grotesque or anything, mind you) - but since he is a new-born, if I were in your shoes dear, I would call the advice nurse and inquire about what side effects one can expect after having that particular shot. Just to be safe. Because the bump could be an indication of some sort of allergy. Best to call and make sure, can never be too overprotective when the little ones are this young.
If you don't want to call though, I would do a quick search on google and type in something to the effect of "Infant vaccination side effects" and if you can, maybe include the specific NAME of the vaccination/shot that the child has received. There's plenty of sites online that can help with useful information on newborn issues, shots, vaccinations, likely side effects from shots, etc.
Good luck to you, hope it's just a little bump and nothing more.
Take it easy,
miR :)

Do you mean knots under the skin in the muscle?
Or do you mean bumps on his skin like a rash?
If he has knots where they gave the shots, arnica can help. Gently massage some arnica oil into the area. Use the arnica oil or some Hyland's Bumps and Bruises right after any shots from now on.
If it looks like a rash, a possible allergic reaction, call the doctor. He may tell you to give a little Benedryl if it looks bad. BUT be sure to CALL FIRST before giving baby anything!

That's because of the vaccine, you can put a little bite of ice in the area where he had the vaccination, take a washcloth and cover the ice, then put it in his leg like you give him gently massage no more than 2 3 minutes or your little one can handle then do the same with the other leg. repeat every 2 hours and you will see those bumps will go away

It depends what type of shots these are, this may be normal. I would contact the office where he got his shots to be sure. You can never be to careful with a newborn.

he'll be fine. It may have been from tensing up during the shot. Just keep an eye on it but otherwise it happens all the time.
