Why are you thinking in such complex terms? Think smarter, not harder.

1) Breathing
2) Blinking
3) Pumping blood

P.S.
Transport doesn't always require energy, it can be passive. And glycolysis has a net gain of energy, so I'm a bit uneasy about that.
