Unfortunately, that is not what all this is about. The movie describes andepic battle that actually took place so I would read up on the history of the war. At this time, unfortunately America and Iran are not on the best of terms. I have not seen the movie but I know it is based in fact. The Spartans were fierce fighters. I don't think there is anything to apologize for it is just something that politicians say to each other in times of war (Iraq) AND different ideological points of view. They could make (iran) a movie about slaves in America and slant it too but it would be based in fact.
Remember these countries Iraq, Iran, and middle east have been fighting with each other for thousands of years. Hollywood, on the whole is against the war in Iraq, so I would see them putting out something that would make US look bad.
Just my opinion.

The movie is based on the Battle of Thermopylae. Where the Persians were attempting to invade and concur Greece.

The Persians were a very fierce race and rolled over many other nations during their time of world dominance. And the Persians were the ancient Iranians. So they do not approve of a Hollywood adaptation of this battle.

In the end...no apology should be given. The battle happened, the Persians were the attackers, the Spartans the defenders, and it was a very, very bloody battle. Just not quite the way Frank Miller depicts it.

I believe Iran's' reaction to the movie was to stoke a nationalistic fervor in their population in order to rally them against the United States. As reported in numerous books and news reports, the majority of the population in Iran is under 40 years old and has a favorable opinion of the west and western culture. Inciting a nation wide indignation over the film allows the hard line mullahs (the real power base) to gain the support of the average Iranian and to try to divert attention from their current nuclear stand off.

Really, Bill, you know Hollywood is in it for the money. If Iran is unhappy, so be it. Apologize for making a blockbuster? Hell will freeeze over first. This is hardly the first time Iran has had problems with evil America.

It's government propaganda. Hollyweird owes THE ENTIRE WORLD an apology, but not JUST for that, but for ALL the propaganda they force feed us in movies and in the media in general.

Should "Hollywood"? Do you think "Hollywood" has a spokesperson? Do you think everyone in Hollywood has the same opinion and politics?
Stupid question...
