or first thing in the morning??? why dont tv companies move all the rubbish programmes to late at night so we can all watch the decent ones and then go to bed!

It is more exciting, things go better in the dark. Some people get a thrill of being frightened .[ if it is a horror film] The dark, darkness on the land go hand in hand with the terror, suspense, romance and all the best programmes on the TV screen.

Because all the good programmes 'may have scenes of a sexual nature' 'scenes of violence' 'bad language' in other words everyday life.
Far too much exposure to the big bad world that young kids need, they will be exposed to it soon enough.
