No. by no ability. nicely, apart from from the band's inception (using fact the Polka Tulk Blues Band in 1969, quickly changing the call to Earth, and then later to Black Sabbath) until around 1977, nevertheless he rejoined in 1978 for the album "by no ability Say Die!" and then kicked out in 1979. A succession of vocalists filled the spot he vacated, which comprise Ronnie James Dio, Ian Gillan, Ray Gillen, Glenn Hughes, and Tony Martin. He almost rejoined the band in 1992-3, yet desperate against it on the final minute. He then rejoined the band formally in 1997 for what became supposedly a handful of shows yet ended up being quite a few excursions. New textile is supposedly going to be released in 2007-2008. yet apart from that, Ozzy became by no ability the lead singer of Black Sabbath.

Ozzy was the original singer of Black Sabbath and author of some of their best material. Other singers who have recorded and toured with Black Sabbath include Ronnie James Dio of Rainbow and Dio and also Ian Gillian of Deep Purple fame. (Heaven and Hell, with Dio writing and singing BTW was a great album and Black Sabbath DID NOT BREAK UP, there is a current tour going on this summer with Dio on vocals called the Heaven and Hell reunion tour And I'm going to be there!!) Oh and . . BTWthere is also a video floating around of Rob Halford from Judas Priest who did some shows in front of Black Sabbath, but he didn't record any albums with them or write new material. Also there was at least one unknown singer whose name I didn't recall until I followed that link to personnel, even I learned something new. )

Black Sabbath is no longer together. They got back together for the 2005 Ozzfest - but other than that they are no longer a band. They occasionally reunite for several special occasions and perform togehter such as Live-Aid, Ozzfest etc. However, Ronnie James Dio performed as their singer for a bit, and will be doing so again during a tour in the summer of 2007.
