I like the old-school! I hate new-school with a passion, so I tend to go with the (supposedly) more popular sub-genre of rap.

*If you hate rap/hip-hop, or you hate my question, please don't answer my question. No "I don't care remarks" or smartass remarks, please!

Both 'old-school' and 'new-school' have the same message, its just being said in a different way. I personally like old-school better because even though it still talks about girls, drugs, money, and the artist its more discrete and actually contains words. Now-a-days all I hear is the chorus over and over and over and over again- oh and maybe a little featured clip by some incomprehensible.

I'm going to be honest here. I dislike rap/hip hop. BUT, it is completely obvious why old is better than new. there isnt much you can do with a drum machine and rhymes. I mean, it's probably getting harder for 'artists' to make new good stuff that people like. Plus, these said 'artists' want money right? so they make the songs more publicaly acceptable so they can be played on the radio, MTV, etc. Eminem set the unreachable explicitness bar, and try to reach it is just going to make them look liike they are copying him. It's all downhill from here.

Not that much into hip-hop, okay, honestly, not into it at all. But, I do feel that old school was original, positive ground breaking. Today's "new school" is just a really bad regurgitation of yesterdays best mixed with smutt. What comes out is crap, utterly and completely lacking in talent.

"What more can I say? I wouldn't be here today, if the old school didn't pave the way" -Tupac

I don't think a lot of these new school rappers appreciate the core of Hip-Hop.

i don't like much of the new stuff anyways. A lot of it is either very repetitive, the beat is the same for many songs, trashy lyrics, etc. I'll stick with old school anyday.

old school was cleaner and not all about hatred and b#^$# this and B#@$ that. Old school is cool. fun. plain and simple. and if it werent for ols school there would be a new school. and I think its sad that you dont like it. Even the man Quincy Jones himself likes the new stuff.
