Hi, everyone, I want to make a survey.
I am going to open a massage and SPA store in Texas. And I will decorate the store in Chinese Style. I want to know:
If I open a massage & SPA store in Texas and all the decorations about Chinese, will you come for massage?

Do American really like Chinese style things?
If there are too much Chinese stuff, will people be afraid to come in?

Thank you very much, your information is really important to me!!

Some do and Some don't. I don't really hear any complaints about it when they are at the chinese buffet.Their first thought might be that the store is an asian type of massage & spa or at least asian owned. The asian theme can also take your customers on a sort of vacation away from the outside world temporarily. I think it's cool.

There are different styles of Chinese decoration. I think the more traditional style that is elegant and soft would be accepted and appreciated such as the multi-panel windows, paper cut designs, Fu charcter, couplets, knots and designs of fish, dragon and phoenix. Those cardboard decorations that look like fat children in cartoons will seem silly to most Americans.

You should emphasize that you know some technique of Chinese traditional massage if you have these skills. Many Americans like Chinese herbal medicine and accupuncture so they may already have a positive feeling for Chinese traditional massage. Why not offer Tai Ji (Guangdonghua is Tai Chi) class also if you have a large room or outdoor space? Many Americans like Tai Ji.

I think Americans prefer clean lines and really don't like the heavy Oriental look.
