NO ! That's an incomplete pass. In order for it to be a fumble, you would have actually had to have the ball in your control, THEN lose it in order to be a fumble. In the pros they say you have to make 2 football moves, then lose the ball before it's considered a fumble. Your friend is an idiot if he says it is.

No because you didnt have possesion of the ball. In order for a fumble you need to gain full control of the ball and bring to your chest and hold it. But if you tipped it and it fell to the ground it counts an incomplete pass.

it's an incomplete pass.. You must 1st get control of the ball and make a football move inbounds in order for it to be complete.. You can not fumble unless you first have control of the ball and it is ruled a catch.

No, if you never had control then it is an incomplete pass. You have to make what they call a football move which is like 2 steps after you do have control of the ball.

You have to have total control of the ball and take two steps to record a fumble....
Anything else that is passed would be incomplete... or intercepted

that would be an incomplete pass. it can only be a fumble if you have control of the ball and according to the NFL make a "football move".

think of it this way...if you "catch" it...it means that you are able to turn with the ball in your hand and take a step...that is considered a "football move"...once this "move" is made...anything after that is a loose ball, or fumble...if you dont make a football move, it's a drop, or incomplete pass...meaning you start over and you gain nor lose any yards
also, everyone that is saying you have to take two steps is wrong...you dont have to take two steps, this isnt basketball nor are you trying to stay in bounds...all you have to do is "make a football move"...meaning, like i said before, be able to move with the ball in your control for a step

No, that's not a fumble. On a (pass) reception, you have to control the ball AND make a "football move" in order to fumble.
