make sure she washes her hands. have her set or stand in a comfortable position, usually one foot on the floor one foot one the toilet, Make sure she stays relaxed if she tenses up it wont insert right and she will have to start all over.Tell her with her thumb and index finger gently and slowly insert it until she feels it stop the plunger should still be outside of the body, with her index finger have her to gently and slowly push the plunger until it stops applicator will separate and you throw that away don't flush it.Have her tug on the string just enough to check that its firmley attached. If she feels it and is uncomfortable then she didn't place it high enough and she will have to try again. She needs to wash her hands when she is done. She needs to change it every four to six ours this is very inportant. If at all possible she needs to get some maxi pads, as she is much too young to use the tampons its not really recomended for young girls. Please look up Teens using tampons and the first period on yahoo search. also see www.playtex.com

buy a box of tampons, and there is a lil pamphlet in the box with a diagram. follow the diagram and put it in for her, or have her watch u put it in. also, why does she NEED to use tampons? make her wear pads, esp if she is under the age of 16. u dont want her to lose her virginity yet.

Hi Nan.. ;)
If you can get the 'applicator tampons' they are much easier to use.. then tell your grand-daughter to but one foot on the toilet seat and the fiddle around for a bit and don't push too far up and try to avoid pulling too much on the string...

If you buy a box of tampons, there are usually very graphic directions inside the box that include both diagrams and words.

This is probably one of the most awkward questions I've attempted to answer. Not to mention I'm a guy. My guess? Um.. take it out of the wrapper, and place it in with the little stringy thing in so it doesn't get caught. Then, um.. just.. leave it at that.
Wow- I'm kind of a freak, I think.
(I don't know what I'm talking about, btw.. i'm just making an educated guess.)

um well take it out of the package and push the blunt end up your vagina and when all of the blunt end is up pull the skinny tube down and there you go it'll only last for 4 hours to get it out just pull the string and there you go.
hope this helps (and just so you know that wasn't easy)

open the box and follow the information on the instructions. once you have it open, use one as a tester to see if you have the hang of it before you actually insert it. you never know who you can take advice from on this board.

have her ask somebody like her doctor or mother. it's a little awkward for her grandmother to teach her, but if you are the only female person in her life i would recommend going to some web site.
