The closest point to you is going to be either Albequerque or Denver. It doesn't connect to the west coast.

You could fly to either Buenos Aires, Brazil or Prudhoe Bay, AK, and drive the whole way...but you can't get there from here, as my friends in Maine would say!

If you're actually looking for the highway that crosses the U.S., you'll want Interstate 80. In San Francisco, this basically starts at the Bay Bridge, heading east (obviously!). You can take it all the way to Ocean City, Maryland.

Take the 101 south to the 10 east (in Los Angeles). The 10 highway will take you to Las Cruces New Mexico where it turns south into Mexico. At that point just keep driving to the tip of South America.

head south on 101 and don't stop until you are in Mexico
