I see a barefoot person in public on average once every two weeks. Most of the time the person is not overweight, but I do see overweight barefooters once in a while.
There is nothing "Ghetto" about going barefoot in public. I wish everyone would realize the comfort and healthiness of the practice of going barefoot. Sometimes I get the feeling that the vehemently anti-barefoot crowd is jealous beacause they haven't the courage to go barefoot themselves. The practice is completely legal - YES, even in restaurants. The health dept. has nothing to say on the matter. For more info., see

I've seen less than a dozen of other people barefoot in the ten years I've been barefoot, most of them guys, so that's definitely not enough to base any kind of statistic on! None of them were 'bigger', nor am I (although I'm not skinny either, I'm pretty normal weight I guess).

Btw, going barefoot in public is not against any laws in the US, is not gross, is not dangerous (certainly not more so than high heels or platforms). In spite of persistent myths there are no health laws requiring footwear in stores or restaurants, there are no laws requiring footwear while driving, there are no insurance companies requiring or even recommending footwear for customers. If you're a habitual barefooter callouses are tough enough to handle glass and thorns. You aren't at high risk of parasites or disease from going barefoot; the hookworm has been pretty much eradicated from the South since modern plumbing and never was a problem in cooler climates, skin is made to keep pretty much all other nasties out, and we're at far greater risk picking something up and transferring it to our face/mouth/food with our hands than with our feet even in restrooms! Only in the US do so many people believe it's unhealthy or dangerous; here in Europe even though most people still don't go barefoot for fashion reasons, most people do believe it's a very healthy thing. I've never seen a 'shoes required' sign except in hardhat areas on this side of the ocean, and negative comments (apart when pertaining to fashion) are rare and usually come from groups of teens who tend to make fun of anything that's unusual.

don't have self assurance that.. except you're having some form of prepubescence unexpected boost there is not something you will desire to be stressful approximately.. walking barefoot won't make your ft larger it is going to easily lead them to dry and tough. Your genes will confirm the size of your physique areas.. look into your loved ones and you will see the approximate weight and height you are going to alter into after childhood.

Never noticed that part, just that anyone comfortable enough with themselves to go bf'n it when they want is OK in my book! Shoes are unnecessary, uncomfortable, and foreign to the human condition.. why give in to convention?
