Never thought about it before, but I think ts a GREAT idea. Also, where in our "civil rights" do we guarantee a free hand out? People fall on hard times, its unfortunate, and our system is set up to deal with it, but FA too many people are busing the system. Time to fix it, if you're on drugs, then no check. If you refuse a job, no check.....

The entire welfare program is a violation of ALL of our civil rights. NOWHERE does the Constitution give government the power to take my money and give it to someone else. Welfare recipients should not qualify for help with or without a drug test.

If you were a hard working overtaxed tax paying individual, your answer would be the same as all of the above.

I don't know where you people on welfare think society owes you anything! Get a Job!

Why are you people so self-righteous and hateful? As much as you all like to get on your high horse and make yourselves feel better by insulting welfare recipients, most people are on welfare because they have fallen on hard times. I know, after I was laid off as a nurse, my ex (a deadbeat dad) left me with a baby to support, I needed help to get back on my feet. It is a humiliating enough process without a bunch of holier-than-thou bigots assuming you are a lazy drug abuser and adding insult to injury by asking for a drug test. Guess what?, alot of people on welfare are disabled war veterans, I know because I have worked as a visiting nurse, I took care of them. How dare people make assumptions. The lack of caring , kindness and compassion in this country anymore makes me sick.
EDIT: My husband and I paid quite a bit in taxes this year, I would still rather have them go to the less fortunate than a pointless failure of a war.

Yes. You get money from the government and it is against the law to do drugs. Kids and Adults on drugs don't mix.

Yes...to weed them out from the good people who do need them. This system was set up to help others, but many are abusing it.

I wonder if the expense of testing all these people is worth the bother.
