My roommate will spend hours on end, locked in his bedroom, playing that ridiculous game. Its the first nice day outside and when i leave to go to class then come back, he's in his room... I go out and shoot hoops, come back... in his room. I understand that it is addictive, and people have died from it due to lack of nutrients. I want to help him, but at the same time, not step on any toes. How do I help a friend in need? Or souldn't I help him?

I know quite a few people who are hooked on WoW. They spend 10+hrs a day playing and neglect themselves, their homes, even their kids, flunked out of school, etc. - it's really sick and sad. I've tried to help, but most people are in denial and don't think it's that bad. They want and crave the social aspect of the game and that is part of what draws them in. All you can do is talk to your roomie about his behavior and that he spends all his time on the game. Whether or not he listens to you will be on him - but at least you tried.

well i play WoW and i am not addicted. But if it's as bad as u say it is.... Try and talk to him , try and understand, let him tell u about the game. Then maybe ask him to go with u for lunch and tell u more. Get him out of his room by fooling him.

I don't know if it will work but atleast give some time to listen and distract him atleast for a bit.
