All those who think tennis is a sissy sport probably watch it for the skirts and legs of the female tennis players, so that they can go back home and cross dress themselves.

I have to first say I am biased because I am 55 years old and have been playing tennis all of my adult life. I have never heard anyone call tennis a sissy sport. You have to be physically and mentally tough to play a couple of sets of singles. Sometimes I wonder why I play tennis because it can be physically demanding and losing can be rough on a guy. However, it is great excercise, you can meet new people, you can enter tennis tournaments, and it is never boring. So, I don't know who these people are who think tennis is a sissy sport but all of the men and women I have played tennis with were all good people and were not sissy types. So, try it and make your own decision!

no way, tennis is not a sissy sport. In tennis you are working long hours to develop the fundamental knowledge of the game and the endurance that it takes to win the championship match in the tournament. In a tennis match you do more running than you do in almost any other sport. You are constantly chasing the ball all over the court. Also not everyone can play tennis. If ur somewhat good, challange the people who say tennis is a sissy sport to a match and whop up on them because it is hard to play. You have to have good hand-eye cordination and good skills with your feet and your body. Nobody who hasn't played tennis before can say that it sucks because it's sooooo hard to play that if they played it they'd realize how hard it is.

I used to play football in high school, and I'd consider myself a huge football and baseball fan. And I think tennis a great sport. The male players may not be as bulky as football players, but I think they're in better shape due to their flexibility. Strength isn't just muscle mass.
Personally, I prefer women's tennis. Female tennis players tend to be more attractive than women in any other sport because they're usually muscular in addition to being lean. Plus, it does get a little dull watching Federer mop the floor with everyone else, even if he is the greatest player of all time.

Tennis takes a lot of hand eye coordination and you have to be quick on your feet. At the same time you have to be smart with your shots and try to predict what's coming next. People that say tennis is a sissy sport don't know what they are talking about.

I think a lot of the 'tennis is a sissy sport' comes from the lack of physical contact. In football, basketball, and baseball, there is at least the potential for physical contact. In tennis, two or four people stand on a court with a net in between them. Another thing is that they have trainers who will give, among other things, brief massages to players on the court. The average American probably doesn't think that's tough.
That said, I don't think tennis is a 'sissy sport' at all! To be on the tour at any level, you have to be in amazing physical shape to succeed. You have to be able to compete on different surfaces, often in high heat and humidity. I like the sport a lot because I appreciate the physical conditioning it takes to play it at the higher lvels. I like the artistry. I like a lot of the players, and certain women players are quite attractive.

when people think of tennis, they think of a light, non-challenging, badmitton-like game where you lightly hit the ball on a court. they dont know much about it at all though. I'm tired of all the people like that because i get made fun of everyday at school for playing tennis and I have been made fun of for the past two years. I also dont really have alot of friends because I'm looked at as a sissy just cause of a sport I do....how stupid is that?
Bytheway-- Tennis is alot of fun.....atleast if you play it right and your good (I'm #1 at my school :])
In my opinion, tennis is best sport of them all.

There is very little sissyish about the modern game of tennis. It requires athleticism, endurance, mental strength and strategy.
