in pre-school, kids dont always look forward to nap time. It seems that now in High School, all we want to do is sleep insted of doing our work.

Most American teenagers are wimps and spoiled cry babies. Try doing your work and not being into drama.

Most districs start high school really early, and most of the kids have to get up even earlier to perfect their makeup three times before catching a very early arriving bus. I, personally, have to get up at 4:45 AM to make it to school on time. The saddest part is that doesn't seem like an indecent hour to be awake anymore, not in my life at least. Then, there are the late night movie outings. By the time lunch comes, half of the high schoolers are only half awake. I think a nap really would help. People do need sleep, especially high schoolers. It does seem odd or akward, but I do think if schools allowed for a certain amount of time a day for teens to take a quick nap (heard of those? there are whole articles on them. some work places are actually making their workers sleep for 15 minutes a day because it helps keep them working efficiently. I think I read that in Newsweek? the article was a while back though) But seriously, as childish as it sounds at first, naps in highschools really would be a good idea.

Haha of course, pre school cant compare to high school. Preschoolers play all day and learn alphabets, numbers and drawing. In high school, its so much more harder and you have tons of classes, that are hard subjects, with loads of work for about 7hrs a day. Its very stressful. If you have extracurricular activities after school, it would make you an extremely busy person, just like I did. I feel sleepy and get migraines almost every single school day. What I would do is sleep in some of my classes, if I could. Naps in high school are okay, but its not good especially during class time. It wont obviously improve grades, yet it wont get your grade down. All it matters is that you get your assignments done.

I think it would be an enormous help if high school didn't start until 9:00 at the earliest. It has been proven that an adolescent biological clock is not set the same. The bed time and rising time would be later if allowed to develop naturally. But no, we insist that high schoolers rise at the crack of dawn to go to school. I am a huge fan of naps. I bet the teachers would like the down time, too.

YES!!! If they had a "nap/break" time, other than lunch. Like had a quiet room where a group of maybe 20 students can go, for like 15-20 minutes a day, to relax, or nap..I think that would be sooooooooooo awsome. I prolly woudl have passed math if I had a chance to take a nap during school...instead of trying to take it in other classes...

NOT starting high school at 6:30 AM would certainly help grades!! It's not just the kids who are wandering around in a fog - believe me, the teachers are just as bad.

A short nap may possibly help.

What would really be a big help is turning off the Cell-Phones, gameboys, iPods, etc., so one may pay attention and study without distraction.

Also, forgetting about how popular your boy/girl friend is would also help.

Also, forgetting about how good your boy/girl friend kisses would also help.
