Ultrasounds are very accurate, however they are read by people who are not perfect. Also, for 20 years they have been studying ultrasounds and effects on babies. They have recently came out with data that they have known about for years that states ultrasounds can be harmful to the child. Causing many things such as autism. When the laser moves over the baby it causes heat, which can change the brain cells. Just like you dont get into a hot tub or sauna, you need to be careful about having ultrasounds. I have chosen not to have ultrasounds with this pregnancy.

If the ultrasound said you were four months then more then likely it is your ex's baby. I know that this isn't what you want to hear but more it seems to be this way. Everything happens for a reason and you may not understand why now but eventually the reason will be give to you. I hope things go well with the pregnancy and the baby. Just keep your head held high and remember that the baby needs you now so stay positive and strong for that reason. God Bless you and your little one.

ultrasounds are very accurate if done before 20 weeks but there is always room for ever, say 1 week or so- that is understood. However, it will not be off by a month. now, didnt you say that you broke up with your fiance 5 months ago and are now 4 months pregnant?? I dont understand how it could be your fiance's if you were broken up at the time you became pregnant.

Well I went in to my doctors and my baby was off 3 days
bigger by 3 days and i was 12 weeks 5 days pregnant supposed to be anyways and he measured 13 weeks 1 day
and they told me ultrasounds can be off up to 10 days
cuz i thought they were gonna change my due date but they wont unless its over 10 days off
they tend to be more accurate before 12 weeks pregnant
but after that they can be off up to 2 weeks
so its hard to say who the daddy is unless u know ur exact cycle length and maybe got a ultrasound early in ur pregnancy

Any ultrasound which is done before 20 weeks is the best indicator of fetal gestation. Babies grow at the same rate until that point. Your Dr will give you an 'estimated' due date before the ultrasound, and will change it afterward if the dates vary by 11 or more days.

Usually it's accurate within 1-2 weeks, depending on the doctor. By my period my due date was the 9th, by the ultrasound my due date was the 15th, and I had my son on the 6th. So it's kind of hard to say- it's not an exact science.

An ultrasound is only as good as the technician who does it. But for the most part they are pretty accurate. Dotors can tell by the measurement and the developement of the baby.

the ultra sound measures the size of the baby's head and abdominal sac and with those measurements a gestaional age is given. he may be off a day or so but not much.

interior the 1st few weeks, ultrasounds are very precise as they suspect approximately gestational sac length, presence of yolk sac, and toddler length, that are rather time-honored very early on. the only way you will understand for particular is to have a DNA try after the toddler is born, inspite of the incontrovertible fact that it feels like your boyfriend is the daddy.
