We've had a few very mild days and they're back from last year. Can't figure out where they are coming in. I have a cat so it has to something safe.

borax. put it around the edges of the kitchen. ants will not walk over it.

You can keep your Kitchen clean. I also have found a great site today that has a 100% All natural Cleaner and In one section of the site it mentioned an Insect Killer and the product cliams to be Very safe to use. It was at www.proearthproducts.com check it out.

Stop leaving dirty dishes and food laying around on the counters.
You are seeing a trail of ants because the scouts that came into your house earlier found a food source.
Then they went back to the ant colony and rang the dinner bell.

Clean the counters with a diluted bleach.
Sprinkle powdered red chili pepper, paprika, dried peppermint or borax on ant trails, in cracks and near entryways to deter them from moving in.

first you must do is identify the species of ant that you have and then you can make an educated decision on what kind of BAIT you will use. spraying is bad in everyway, especially if you have pets. most baits bought from the store will be in a pet\childproof container so you can rest assured that it will be safe. in order to identify you have to catch one and match it up with a picture from a book on ants or an internet site that helps with identification.

I usually use fire. Ants do NOT appreciate a good blaze.
