I have already asked a question about being gay and thank you sooo much for responding (to those who did) but now I was wondering if you could tell me how to "out" myself.

Outing yourself to your family is a HUGE step. Do read some books by Eric Marcus. Especially "Is It A Choice? Answers to 300 of the Most Frequently Asked Questions About Gay & Lesbian People." This book will prepare you for questions your parents may have about your sexuality. There are also SEVERAL coming-out guides out there. Check amazon.com for more.

When you come out to them, don't confront them or get defensive. Reiterate how much you love them, and it's because you love them so much you want to share all of yourself with them. If they have a bad reaction, do your best to not get angry with them. A shouting match won't solve anything.

Let your friends or other family that know you are a lesbian know that you are planning to come out to your mom and dad. They will be a support group for you if things don't go as planned.

Good luck!!!!

Three options on coming out: 1)Have the whole big sit down and break the news and then talk the subject to death. 2)Just act like it's nothing and out yourself in a normal conversation such as, "No, I haven't met any guys but there is this girl I'm interested in." 3)Don't tell them or let them find out by accident. Just be prepared for the after effects. There are a wide variety of reactions parents have to kids coming out. Be tactful and good luck!

How? properly, in the beginning, in case you're youthful like on your young human beings i might wait till your older. possibly it would be sensible to be certain the way you experience whilst are say 20. although, in case you're 20 and nonetheless experience which you like ladies, then i might only go spectacular in and tell your mom. deliver her a textual content textile message, write her an e mail, or over dinner one night only blurt it out. you will experience extra useful for it. My daughter went procuring sometime and referred to as me on the telephone. She mentioned that she wagged college and waited for me to yell, which of path i did no longer. She then informed me that she become gay, and that i mentioned something like "thats advantageous expensive'. although, despite the fact that occurs with you, mums love their daughters for despite the fact that they are - so only be brave and communicate the reality. She is now 23 and nonetheless is gay. Her and ger g/f are actually traveling by using Europe and we've usual the two her and her g/f. they have been at the same time now for 3 years. good success Beth, in Aussie.

Why do you need to?

I like women but I feel no need to place a bumper sticker stating that nor do I need special bracelets letting others know I like women.
Do things you would be proud of and others will be proud of you.
Be a person you would love and others will love you for it.
No need to find a box to place yourself...especially if your still growing up.

Right. Do what She said. Be honest. Be open. Take them out to dinner, but do it after they eat so they don't choke. You never know.
