my sister is 20 and is having twin boys in 18 weeks, she is very patete in the way that she is very thin boned(if you know what l mean), she had a car accident a few years ago and was told she needed a hip replacement. She didn't want to have to suffer with getting a fake hip every 15 years so she said no. I want to know if that because of her hip problem and her small frame if there might be any complication with her giving birth to twins. (she is having a c section)

I don't have bad hips, but I do have twins. The c-section should not effect her hips. However, the weight of the twins during the last trimester will probably make her miserable. Like I said, I don't have hip problems, but the pressure from 2 babies, 2 placentas and 2 embryonic sacs was pretty painful. Tell her doc to put her on bed-rest if she isn't already. But she will never be fully comfortable until after they are born. And then really not for about 6 months after that cause she will be completely exhausted. She sounds like she's got some good help though. Feel free to send me an email if you have any more questions. Congrats on becoming an aunt.

I feel for her. I was completely heathy and although I had a good pregnancy twins really take a toll on your body.My back hurt for an entire year after giving birth. I also developed carpel tunnel syndrome I am not a large frame person either so it was pretty hard on my body. She will probably eventually have to go on bed rest to take some pressure off of her hips. Tell her that I said good luck.

she is having a c/s so dont worry about the hip issue. sure, she could have complications-that is the risk every woman takes when having a child
