The GOP is the Republican party. It has what it means has been changed several times but it started out meaning "Grand Old Party". It has been referred to as "Go Party" in the 60's. And was called "Generation Of Peace" during the Nixon Administration. It ended up going back to meaning "Grand Old Party" and still means the same today.
