The show is progressively more pleasing to the eye every season. Did the cast get prettier? Is it the lighting? The cameras? Or is it because the '90s was an ugly decade fashion-wise? What's the deal? I'm a HUGE fan but still can't place my finger on the difference

Well, they were on the air for what, nine years??? I have never missed an episode. It's just that they all grew into it. I think to, like family. The chemistry was there, the glow. You know what I am saying? It did get better every year.

They are older and funnier. I agree that the 90's was an ugly decade fashion-wise. I like to watch the re-runs myself. Chandler is the one to me that has changed the most. In a good way, though. He was having some addiction problems and got over that. They sure are a close-knit group and for me, that is why it is so good and maybe just because you are watching it, you have become attached to the characters and that makes it feel like they are getting prettier.

Don't special effects improve and improve. The quality of cartoon movies and shows always improve. So do sitcoms, they improve TV quality with time. Plus styles of the actors improve with time too.

Age, and the effects of gravity. Oh, and it's amazing what a large bank account can do to some people.
