can you Describe the gases present in magma. How do the gases affect an eruption?

Gas, pressure and magma viscosity is PHD kinda stuff. Thats a realy hard question to answer on a forum like this

Pro Kitty is right. A very, very simplistic answer is that disolved gas in magma can allow a more violent eruption due to the expansion of the gasses as the pressure drops. The gasses in magma can include.... well, just about all of them I think.
