How do I get rid of pocket gophers?

We bought a house where the lawn wasn't mowed for about 3 years. After finally getting it down, I discovered we have pocket gophers. I tried a couple of the commercial baits down the holes and even Juicy Fruit gum. Nothing seems to work. Does anyone have any ideas for me. Thanks!

Home Depot and Lowe's sell stuff that you hook up to the hose then spray on the lawn. That spray on stuff kills the critters that the gophers eat. Once their food supply is gone they go away. We did our front and back yard and they were gone within a week.

When I was a kid we used to trap them. We got 10 cents for each pair of front feet.
