i have poly cystic ovaries and my doctor put my on metmorfin to make my body ovulate. He gave me a pamplet about some of the side effects of the drugs. He said that if i got pregnant while i was on the pills, the possibility of having twins may occur. I know that most or any infertility pills taken can cause you to have twins. Was just curious if anyone had gotten pregnant while taking this medication and ended up having twins or more.

i didnt think that metformin is associated with multiple births. by the way, recent studies show that clomid is better than metformin in inducing ovulation and getting pregnant

I have pcos and am active in boards, I was on met but because I don't have IR and it made me really sick I stopped taking it. I have not heard of anyone having twins while on it, unless they combined the met with clomid, which does increase the chances, but only 10%, and only 1% for more than one (those are clomid's stats).
Met won't make your body ovulate it will just help control your insulin levels by lowering your blood sugar -which should help your body get back on regular cycles. In and of itself it is not an ovulation stimulating drug. The chance of pg on met alone with pcos is 7%. Good luck!!

Metformin isn't a fertility drug, and doesn't raise the posibility of multiple births the way other drugs like clomid do.
