Hard for me to pick just one but lately been learning to play and sing Across the Universe on the piano and it's a genius song!! It changes timing from 4/4 to 5/4 then it goes to 2/4 and back to 4/4 again!! It has a lot of simple chord changes throughout, from C to Em then to Dm7, and shifts in and out of major and minor chords in this regular progression down the scale. . .which brings a lot of interesting tension to the song (mind you this is all happening during the timing changes!) then it throws in this random F minor chord that only appears once at the very end of the phrase . .."sounds of laughter shades of earth are ringing through my open views inciting and inviting me" (the words are as engaging as the music also. with beautiful phrasing and melody . .it's a very spiritual song!)

If you only LISTEN to Beatles music, you really don't get the full appreciation for what great and creative musicians they really were until you examine a piece of sheet music like this. . . . .so lately this has been my favorite song!!

Again, too many great songs to try to choose just one, but the one that came quickly to my mind is "Julia"...just love the melody and the fact that, if memory serves me correctly, it was John Lennon's mother's name and I believe was written for her. For other reasons entirely, I would list "A Day in The Life", "This Boy", "Things We Said Today", "Golden Slumbers", "Oh, Darling", ......ahh, heck...forget it...there is just no way to choose one!
