Of course. You're just asking about a certificate program.

Online is fine for AA degrees and down. Tech degrees, certification degrees, etc. All are fine.

Online runs into real respectability problems at the bachelor level and up. Bachelors is sorta in the grey area. Kinda depends. Once you get up to the masters tho, online is VERY suspect.

My friend attended a university in Colorado - online. She turned in her work by email. Answered questions in a forum, etc. She never made an appearance and she got her degree.

I took a class in Medical Transcription. I did have to mail my reports, but other than that I did fine. It took about 9 months to complete. I took 4 months off, after about the 6th lesson for personal reasons and there wasn't a problem in starting where I'd left off. That was a plus for me. So it did take me a little over a year to complete the entire course.

Best of luck to you in your endeavor.

lots of community colleges have on-line courses available. i have been working as a medical assistant, and while working and while i am still on my maternity leave, I am taking on-line prerequisites to become an LPN, i only have to go in on saturdays to do lab for my biology class.
its great because i wont have to put my daughter into any sort of daycare until i am done w/ the pre-requisites and actually go into the lpn program...by the time i get there she will probably be 1!
