The "Bloods" were created in 1972 when non-Crip gang members formed to lead a revolt against the growing population of Crips in South Los Angeles. Bloods represent the color red, which ranges from red clothing they wear, to red jewelry (more specifically beaded necklaces.) Sometimes they do not wear any identifying colors.
