I really need ADViCE!!?

i have to write an essay, about myself for school. I want To join THE National Honors Society CLub, and i have to write an essay, how can i persaude them to let me join. How should i write my opening paragraph is my main question. PLEASE HELP, I NEED THIS!!!

Your first paragraph should tell a bit about yourself and your priorities. If, for example, you value creativity and humourous thinking, your opening paragraph should reflect this. Example here:

KCBA is on an adventure--the adventure of a lifetime, the adventure of life! The only way to truly explore all avenues is to be around those whose interests are broad and whose knowledge is deep--which is why I humbly entreat you to allow me the honor of joining the National Honors Society.

Get the idea? But it should be what YOUR passion is.

So many do not understand this about Honor Societies--they are not about grades, they are about service! In your essay, cover why you are compelled to help others succeed. The drive your parents gave you--or how you developed it yourself because you did not have a proper example. Explain how selecting you will benefit the organization and be specific. Give examples like fundraising activities, community service projects and leadership roles you have assumed in the past. Are you a Scout (yes, I am serious!)? All of these things play a role in their decision. As with law school applications, you are not being judged against the rank and file of society--instead, you are competing against the best. Let them know that your good grades are only part of the equation and that the total package is one that they do not want to miss out on!!

There I many reasons I would like to join the X Society. the Reasons are X, Y, and Z. I also feel that I would become a better scholar/person/ contributor to society.
