I have to interview an immigrant who came to America for a school project, so please help me out. Please bear with me & no simple yes or no answers please.
Since I can't ask your name etc. on yahoo, please make one up that matches your homeland along with a town and an age.
What country were you born in? How old were you when you first arrived in the US?
Describe your homeland. Language, foods you ate, dress what you miss about it etc. How is it different from America basically.
Why did you (& your family) leave your homeland? What was you trip to the US like? What obstacles did you have to over come? Any interesting experiences?
Before you came, what did you think the US would be like? How did you think it would be different?
Once you arrived, was it different? Any culture shock?
What kinds of challenges did you face in the US? Language, different foods etc.?
What challenges did you have learning English? Do your parents speak it? What do your children speak?
