Finding blue eyes among South Indians is very rare.
They were probably from the North (less rare but rare nonetheless) or wearing contacts.
There are no gypsies in India......The gypsies in Europe were rumored to be from Egypt (thats how they get the name gypsy) but they migrated from Punjab a long time ago.

Its just not possible to spot that many Asian Indians with Blue eyes. You will find gray but blue is almost impossible. Either the people u spotted were wearing lens or possibly of mixed nationality.

Indians Usually have brown or black eyes. And few with gray.
And Kashmiries are not called Gypsies.

I saw many Indians with blue eyes in Kashmir, up in the mountains, local people called them Gypsies, they are probably the heritage of the soldiers with Alexander the Great

I have green eyes(natural no contacts) and am from North India(Punjab). Kashmir and Punjab are the areas of India/Pakistan where lighter coloured are eyes more common. .
