had to reinstall windows a few times it says somithing like
this N:/is not accesible
the device is not ready
Id love to be able to use my dvd drive again to listen to music
or play dvds any ideas on how to fix this?

First of all check to see if it is plugged in inside the case because sometimes wireing comes loose. We call it crip and creep from expanding from the heat. If led lights and wireing checks out ok then check your hardware to see if the drivers are working properly. If not, you may go to your system info to see which driver you need. Or if you have a drivers CD you can find it there.

Do you have a Software DVD player installed? Theres tons of em, even free ones. search yahoo for freeware dvd players.Windows usually installs the drivers automatically. To check it go to Device Manager. if theres a yellow ? mark next to the dvd drive, right click on it , Uninstall the driver then reinstall the driver. Check your IDE cable. if it isnt keyed turn it 180 degrees . Other than these things I wouldnt know. Shud be one of em tho

If there was a driver to make the DVD player to work, then you would need to install it. Do you have the program that you need to play a DVD? If not, you should be able to find a free one. Does the player show up when you use the icon Mycomputer?

You did not say how previous the CD/DVDchronic is. Does thechronic spin up in any respect? Does your working equipment recognize its existence? If the OS would not demonstrate thechronic, it rather is in all probability lifeless. Erratic or no popularity of a disc is a robust sign thechronic has had it. laptop or own computing device, comparable element.

re-install the drivers for the drive. Make sure N is in fact the drive you are trying to use. Double click on the my computer icon, and see if the drive is listed, right click on it, and choose properties. Update drivers, or rollback.
