I just read that Iran declared war on Hollywood over the movie "300." Is there something in the water over there that makes these people retarded?

Well, I have not seen the movie "300", so I do not know how "evil" the Persians were portrayed vs. the "noble" Greeks. Because I am American and do not support sharia law, I favor freedom of artistic expression. The movie was not a documentary so IF the history was not accurate, then there is no grounds for criticism. Even historians are biased. So what if some people do not like the movie. I do not like a lot of movies but I do not go ballistic about it.

The Associated Press article says that Javad Shamghadri, cultural adviser to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, claims, the "United States tries to "humiliate" Iran in order to reverse historical reality and "compensate for its wrongdoings in order to provoke American soldiers and warmongers" against Iran".

REVERSE HISTORICAL REALITY?????

Well, the mullah-run Hamshari news can sponsor their own movie on the battle of Thermopylae in 480 B.C. According to wikipedia, the Persians numbered 200,000 to 2 million and the Greeks were 300 Spartans and allies totaling another 4,000. So the movie could show how the "noble" 200,000 Persians surrendered to the 4,000 "evil" Greeks to show the Greeks mercy.

Yep, I want to see the Iranian movie so I will know what really happened in 480 B.C ..... by the way...... why were the Persians going to Thermopylae, Greece with a massive army?? IWas it to invite the Greeks to chai and chello kebab?

So are the Iranians who now live in California protesting or posting their views or is it just the mullahs in Iran??? Maybe someone should inverview Beverly Hills incumbent city councilman Jimmy Delshad. Being Iranian and in politics in California, he should know how to handle the situation. Except he is Jewish and fled Iran when the mullahs took over in 1979. So what about Abbas Milani, co-director of the Iran Democracy Project at Stanford University.

Here's his email. I think I will write to Dr. Milani......amilani@stanford.edu

I am an Iranian and a persian. Mr. Jaimie I read your view and it was fantastic. But for others I should say I am really sorry for you. You really dont understand that for example me as an Iranian how I feel about this movie. Not only this movie but other movies that hollywood makes to insult Iranians such as The Great Alexander.
I want you just imagin if hollywood made a movie, and insulted your people, your country and your ancestors even if the movie was just for fun not a dodumantry and you knew that other people such as Americans who do not know anything about that subject and believe the first thing that they see, how would you feel??
Believe me, I love hollywood's movies, and I wish I just wish that I could sit and watch that movie for fun, laugh and....
But I cant. None of Iranians can. There was a time that I thought why hollywood makes movies about different countries and famous people, but it never makes any movie to show Iran, to show persia, and the great history and civilization that we had. But now I say oh thank you, I dont wish anymore that hollywood makes any movie about my countriy. I wish that they dont make any.
I prefer other people dont know anything about my country rather than knowing some false and wrong informations.
I even bet what you've heard about my people in this time, the people who now live in Iran is all lying and is all wrong and false. That is what suffers me and lots of other Iranians.

I shake my head at the human race.
On a similar topic, did you hear that Kazakhstan has the highest viewership of the movie "Borat"? If the people there can stand watching an English Comedian belittling their character as a people, then Iran must have an insurmountability of intolerance! I dare say I'm not surprised.

LOL I think it's hilarious. If every country got their panties in a bunch over movies that were made, everyone would be declaring war on Hollywood!

Iran can not deal with truth on any issue that is why they have a president who says that the Final Solution never happened in WWII, that their nuclear program is for peace options, and now that what a thousand years ago brave Spartans did not stand up to thousands of invaders to their country.

My first reaction? "BWAHAHAHAHA!!!"

My second reaction was that it was ludicrous of them to get pissed off about A) something that happened a couple THOUSAND years ago and B) involved a country that occupied their land but had little to do with the current government.

They're just playing up the "wrongfully injured by the United States" angle in the hopes that it'll help them somehow with the nuclear issues.

It isn't the water that makes them stupid, that began when they
started dating their sister, cousin, mother and when neither was available they took their camel out to dinner. The name retarded doesn't even scratch the surface!

It is probably US water that they have been drinking that is causing them to declare war.

They should team up with Khazakstan after the Borat movie.

If they are going to start, I say they start with Michael Moore and that jackass Bill Maher.
