Yea, give me $20 bucks and the new one and inside of 30 minutes I am done sitting with a cold Bud Lite in the other hand.
Get a Haynes Repair Manual at the local Auto Zone or auto parts store in your area. It will troubleshoot and show you how to fix your vehicle. Also on the Auto Zone site has a section for vehicle maintenance
TIP - When you change your alternator make sure your battery is fully charged or you can ruin your alternator.

Yea looking at the other answers I must be a genius. lol Everyone should know you have to have a FULLY charged battery or trouble down the road sooner than you think. I gave myself another pat on the back.

Disconnect battery
undo belt
unhook electrical connection to alt.
unbolt alternator
bolt in new alternator
connect electrical connection to alt.
hook belt back up and adjust tension
reconnect battery
TA-DA!

disconnect negative (black) wire from battery.Remove the belt. remove the bolts that hold the alternator down.remove the wires that go to the alternator ..then its reverse of removal

unplug the electricals loosen bolts and remove them, lift away fron vehicle, repeat process in reverse with new one
