Yes you can be friends with a man, set the ground rules right away, I have a friend who is married and we are good friends, we can talk about anything, I ask for advice , we go to lunch once in a while but not once have we ever gone over the line with each other. We are both attractive people and we set the ground rules from day one. If your friend is thinking this guys wants more than a friendship, she is probably right and to go with her gut instinct is a smart thing to do and get out of it.

I guess it all depends on that certain situation. And how long they've known eachother. I'm friends with tons of guys. But of course that is because I hate being around too many horomonal people. Which of course leaves women mostly out of the picture. But I do have an ex I stayed friends with. He wanted to have an affair. I did the right thing and said no. But like I said, it all depends on that situation. He could be trying to get her in the sack. I think that she should get to know the wife too. Get a boyfriend and go on double dates. To make sure he knows she won't go there. She's too good to do a thing like that.

Unless they are mutually NOT attracted to one another, then no, men and women cannot be friends.
There will always be some level of flirting and inuendo until one person takes it too far and makes everything weird. Or they both give in and become sexual.
If men have too many female friends, then they become "one of the girls," and emasculated. You know the kind, the guy who knows tons of girls, is the "nice guy," listens to their problems, and never dates any of them: because at the end of the day she always loses respect for him and sleeps with someone else.
