I was told I need a usb headset for my new job but I already have a 3.5mm headset can they both be used the same way or do I really need to purchase the usb headset

3.5mm is the size of the head it will fit. Measure the size of your head using a measuring tape, or a ruler (you'll have to use a stool.) If your head is smaller than 3.5mm, you'll need the USB set.
