Go to Worldstart.com Then click on the Software Store,(top left of the page). In this screen, on the lefthand side you'll see Cool Gadgets, click. Then on this screen scroll down until you see Direct LinQ USB 1x Data Transfer Cable, click. Costs 9.95,(believe free shipping), and it works great! We change computers about every six months, and this saves tremendous hours! Don't be fooled by the price, their quality is excellent!

You can transfer data between the two computers using an Ethernet cord and adapter, not USB. Go out and buy a rollover Ethernet cable, available at any tech store pretty cheap, plug in each computer to it, and then on the old computer, run Files and Settings Transfer Wizard in All Programs, Accessories, System Tools. This application can transfer not only files but computer settings as well. Should work with Vista.
