Okay, since Danielle asked for my opinion - I don't see why all of you are wasting so much space telling him to put the whale in a 10 gallon. I'd keep it in a spare betta bowl. No heater, no filter. After all, they have a blowhole and live in the arctic and antarctic. Get two and keep 'em in separate bowls till you're ready to breed them though!

If you figure 1 gallon per inch of "fish." The average adult male killer whale is 31 ft. You'd need a tank with 372 gallons. That'll barely keep him wet and he won't be able to move at all.
I don't think the average swimming pool would suffice either.
You'd just end up with a very irate, highly intellegent mammal getting it's revenge on you. Puts an entirely different light on "Jaws, the Revenge" doesn't it?

this is totally unhappy and tragic disaster for the friends and kinfolk of daybreak Brancheau. Sea international will ought to take considerable time to verify now no longer least confusing this actual incident, although almost as good as others to return returned to an appropriate determination only so easily every person's preserve is known. particularly certainly, I only think it was a freak twist of destiny using fact the media mentioned her ponytail was dangling in front of him and he could have improper it for a toy. although, there have been memories approximately Tilikum's previous habit which will ought to've raised a pair of crimson flags. Sea international will carry with their aquatic mammal shows with new regulations. I only study that till ultimately concerns blow over, all animal working footwear do no longer seem allowed to take section in in the water with the whales and that V.I.P. travellers won't have an threat to get an in depth to up. They (the sea international reps) did no longer element out this although i think that if there are working footwear with particularly long hair, they is likewise strictly enforced to the two positioned on it in a bun or look after their hair in an appropriate era. whether there are new regulations in region, it may actually no longer distinction the way how the orcas will act or respond. No undertaking how plenty decision or love they located into those creatures, the staff at Sea international can below no situations easily nurture their wild instincts out of them.

No.
Catching of killer whales has been restricted in the past couple of decades, and you probably can't persuade one of the theme parks to give you one of theirs. Theme parks have a problem obtaining them too, which is why HBJ bought Marineland in the 80s -- just so they could have the breeding pair of killer whales, Orky and Corky, to keep Sea World of San Diego in the "Shamu" business.

Sure i reccomend a 15 gallon tank, Make sure its properly cycled and has a nice filter. Also make sure you have sand on the bottom. Whales love sand. When you feed it just dip your hand in some oil and stick it in the whales mouth name him free willy lol

Sure you can!
I have to dissagree with MM on this one though, I thought since one is good in a 10 two should do just as well for breeding in a 20. Should we get Zoe and Copperhead in on this one?
