Is it bad?

It is silver, it looks like he got a small piece of scale or skin torn off and the inside looks silver, he acts no different. I t is on the side of his face.

it could be bad. But more detail would be nice. are you sure it isn't white. Because if it is white it is ick and the rest of your fish can get it.

It would help if you could post a photo (use photobucket or similar photo-sharing website) or give a more detailed description. There's no way of knowing if it's bad until we know what it is. I'll check back in a bit.

Sorry about your fish. I had 5 turtles and they all died. I think that fish and turtles are very fragile...but I am sure they are in a better place now...

sounds like ick to me I would buy some ick medicine and treat the tank. even if it isn't doenot hurt the fiush to put in the water. you could also buy some water treatment.
