I know the IP has a better location, but Sahara is more recently rennovated. Cleanliness is a big plus. Any insight?

Imperial Palace is actually in the middle of room renovations right now.

Currently, you can reserve a deluxe room (newly remodeled) or a standard room (not newly remodeled yet) with them. I recommend calling the hotel to book your room, so you can specify any requests you have.

The hotel website for more info:

I do think Sahara is a slightly nicer property as far as the look and feel of the lobby/casino area... but I think the mid-strip location of IP really makes up for that. It puts you right across the street from Caesar's, which is a million times nicer than Sahara. The way I see it, as long as your room is nice, you needn't hang out on property for your entertainment.

(P.S. the person who said Sahara is demolished is incorrect. Stardust was imploded. Sahara just changed hands and at this point, they plan to renovate rather than implode.)

Considering that the Sahara is out on the end of the strip, and you plan on walking at night down to the strip where the hotels are is a bad idea. Not such a good neighborhood between Sahara's and the Riveria at night. I would staty at the imperial Palace. Just like someone else posted, they are under renovations right now, and call the hotel directly. There is alot more to hotels around IP than Sahara, since it is about center strip. I would believe you would have more fun at this location, with all the things going around there at night.

Can I suggest one or two not on the list?

If you go online and you are looking for cheap room deals you can find good rates on The Monte Carlo, Harrah's, and even The Luxor.

IP has old beds and is out dated.
