Its a lot cheaper to replace the sending unit ,I would try that first,its also possible you have a wiring problem,hopefully not.Good luck

It could also be your head gasket is bad. If the heater will NOT blow warm air (just regular air comes out) then the head gastket is going.

you may need to change your thermostat, and make sure all the air is bled out of the system. this should bring your temp down.

Possibly, or could be a bad gauge, or a bad connection somewhere.
