Ibuprofen, a hot bath and bed with a hot water bottle on your tummy. Evening primrose if it happens often.

The hot water bottle as previously stated does work very well. Tylenol doesn't help me at all, however ADVIL works nicely. Advil (ibuprofen) also helps decrease the blood amount - however, make sure you don't have any stomach problems because it can be a little harsh. For that reason it's recommended that you take it with milk or some food. I take (during my heavy days) two 200mg. Advil Liquid Gel capsules every 6 hours.
The best cure, however, is birth control pills (Ortho-Tri-Cyclen) coupled with ibuprofen. Less painful cramps and a lot less blood flow.

Apparently bananas are good for menstrual cramps... that might just be a theory though!
The best possible cure is exercise. I know that's the last thing you'll want to do right now, but exercise actually helps lessen the cramps and warms up your muscles.
Failing that, just watch TV and eat chocolate! xxx

It might be a bit late now, but for next time - exercise really helps! Seriously! I have the most God awful time of the month with cramps, upset stomach, mood swings....you name it, I get it. BUT this month Ive been riding in and out of work every day (about 2/3 miles a day) and consciously doing more exercise and when I started on on Tuesday, no pain! No moodwsings!! No sore boobs!!! Am amazed at the difference. For now, for the pain, I suggest Nurofen and a hot waterbottle. Take care xx

I just started yesterday and mine are bad too. Ive taken spearmint tea and 2 tylenol and I am using a heating pad. You might want to try a cold pack on your back muscles too. All of those rememdies help. But remember for next month. No caffeine for at least 4 to 5 days before your period. No sodas, no coffee, etc. Also, you probably should try to get a dose of Vitamin B.. Try this and let me know if it helps.

Try gentle exercising. Or go on the pill, it helps to ease off cramps. Another thing is you can buy stick on pads for your stomach area or use an electrical heating blanket to help with the cramps.
Good luck

A friend of mine recently bought some heat patches from Boots (if you are in the UK!). She said they were fantastic, like a hot water bottle that you can just stick on your belly under your clothes and wear during the day! =)
Hope you feel better soon!!

there is no longer a "remedy" yet once you've dysmenorrhea (truly undesirable cramps, like myself) then you definately ought to refer for your physician. i'm getting naproxen for mine and that's fantastic. i visit nevertheless experience a kind of "tightness" in my abdomen in spite of the undeniable fact that the soreness is lengthy gone and that i visit basically bypass on with existence and not in any respect sit down and cry for twenty-four hours at the same time as retaining the fetal position like I used to :). in case you at the prompt are not keen to bypass for your physician (in undemanding words because you do not imagine the soreness is that undesirable) then i'd take an aspirin or another NSAID and note if that enables more beneficial than pamprin. also, heating pads are superb instruments!! attempt to get a number of those besides.
