Yes, once. It was huge, I was drying my hair and noticed the ruddy great thing below the mirror. I'm proud to admit I didn't panic. I did set my dogs on it though, but it got away and as far as I know it is still residing, rent free, in my bedroom. Biggest spider I've ever seen, ever.
A little while ago a smaller spider was on the wall and I told it if it stayed where it was it would live. Next morning I woke up to find it crawling towards me on my bed. It had had it's only warning and one of my dogs ate it.

When my son was five years old and brushing his teeth in the bathroom before going to school he suddenly started shrieking.....I rushed upstairs and found him gripping the toothpaste tube so hard that the majority of the paste was out of the tube and down his arm....he was staring at his leg in total horror and there, was the largest spider I have ever, ever seen......it had climbed up his long socks and was trying to get a grip on his leg........I managed to flip it off his leg onto the floor with a towel (it had a strong grip on his sock so this took a while). Wherever my son moved to this spider ran after him and my son began to get a little hysterical........I had to lift him up and throw him through the open door and slam the door behind him, then this darn spider started running toward me and I am ashamed to say that I picked up my sons flat bottom barge (toy boat for bath time) and smacked it down on the spider.......I was liberally splashed with spider juice which was disgusting and it took quite a while to clear up the mess........I don't usually kill spiders but this one gave me the heeby geebies......needless to say, my son is still freaked out by spiders....

Yes there are too many big spiders in this country! I wonder why is that...I always scream so loud that the spider freezes and I wait till someone comes to kill it for me while I'm standing there staring at it...I have arachnophobia!

Yes. We called him Boris. He hibernated on the stairs all winter & we looked after him really well. Then one day, when it was warm, he tried to go out under the front door. I didn't realise he was there & I trod on him and killed him. I was really upset. We look after all spiders that visit us (except when we accidentally kill them). They are all called Boris (or Son of Boris if they are small). They keep the flies away & give us an excuse not to bother dusting away the cobwebs.

I've only had really big ones outside the house, thank goodness! One was on the side of the house and was so big that when my husband killed it you could hear it hit on the deck. Yuck!!!

Yes I just did about 20 minutes ago. It was in my basement on something I picked up and I screamed really loud and another tenant asked me what was wrong.

Yeah and it lasted about 4 seconds after one of the cats spotted it, next thing its legs were hanging out of the cats mouth and it was a bit dead.

Is he called Boris?
Lay down the ground rules, man: "OK Mr Spider - you stay over there, I'll stay over here. Any flies or other bugs that come in are yours."

Put my slippers on one morning and squish the hairy beast thought it would be a nice place to live, trust me that's not what you want at 5 in the morning.
