Don't they realize that the Iranian people are a proud and deadly enemy? They will certainly not be the push over that Iraqi's are.

I think the question you're trying to ask is, why is the Iranina government trying to provoke a conflict with the US.
And the answer is because they are trying to emerge as the dominant power in the region, and the only way they can do that is by reducing how much influence the US has, and what better way to turn world further against the US? Starting a war with the US and making them seem as the agressor.

Funny how they couldn't even defeat the Iraqi's being such a powerhouse and all, and that was with Russia's help. How exactly are we dragging them into conflict anyway? We complain about their insane fundamentalist government and their nuclear programs but I don't see that as goading conflict. Funding and sending individuals into their country to commit acts of terrorism like suicide bombings against innocent citizens, now that would be goading conflict. The only people the Iranians can beat is their wives.

However, I disagree with your statement about the US trying to start a conflict with Iran. After all, the American people are not out in the streets, burning Iran's flag chanting "Death to the Iranians".
But how many pictures are there of Persians in their streets burning US flags and shouting "Death to the Americans! Death to the Infidels!"
Why can't we all just get along? Despite the many differences people in the world have in regards to religion, cutlure, etc... We all have something in common:
We are all just human beings trying to live, love and learn.

I think the Americans are upset about Iran publicly proclaiming to want to destroy the US and now developing nuclear weapons. They have no sense of humor - they are really jerks, huh?
