At 14 your are more woman than girl (that is spelled G I R L). But, you shouldn't be upset if you can't always act like a young woman. At 14 your have times when you feel like a child, and times when you feel more grown up. As you mature (and that just takes time), you will feel more and more grown up. Don't worry what anyone calls you. You know who you are and you know you were created by a God who loves you and values you. Value yourself, get education, and become the best you you can be. You don't need to be agressive. You need to have confidence in yourself. The best way to do this is to be proud of yourself. So...study hard, ask your school counselor for suggestions to help you to grow more mature. Ignore these younger kids...stay away from them. Have this conversation with your mother, father or school teacher.

The things that are going to help you become more mature are experience and time. Sadly, wisdom must be earned. There are some traits that mature people have, you can work on becoming a mature person by following their example:

They have stopped blaming the people/things/events/weather on their mood. You are the only person who can change the way you feel and you alone are responsible for the way you react to the things that happen to you.

They are able to look at themselves and ask why they are feeling they way they feel. What can you change about yourself and the way you deal with people/things/events that will make your experience better? This is hard. It's difficult to admit that we might not be who we think we are.

They're able to communicate their feelings to other people without making it the other peoson's problem. It isn't someone else's responsibility to make you happy but they might be able to help. You won't know until you honestly tell them what the problem is and ask for help. Be prepared to hear things you don't want to hear and be prepared to consider what others offer carefully before you reject it.

They can listen to other people's feelings and problems without making them their own. Sometimes you can do something simple to make someone feel better but sometimes you can't. And sometimes you shouldn't. It's important to know which situation is which.

And finally they manage to act with integrity even when it's hard. They carefully consider the effects of their actions before they act and they try to always do the right thing. When they make a mistake they admit it and try to make it right.

The thing is, it doesn't matter what the other kids say about you if you can act with integrity. Because if you know that you are a strong, compassionate person striving to make the world a better place for the people around you, you're already way ahead of anyone who would call you names or tease you.

Assertiveness and responsibility. Being assertive is telling people to their face (without a hint of anger) that they're wasting their breath treating you like a child. The second is taking on more responsibility that will separate you from the younger children. You can't be employed for the most part, at 14, so to me it means becoming more active within your school (cheerleading, clubs). And if you REALLY want to grow up beyond those who think you're a child, be a LEADER in your chosen school (or church) activity! Hang in there and remember, one day those kids will face the same music you are

Then stop whining about it. Act as if you dont hear it and act mature about it. Stand up by not reacting to silliness. Tell them when they step on your foot say ouch! People treat you how you let them.

either get a bf that can scare people FOR you, learn how to fight, or just grow up and realize that it doesn't matter what they say or believe. it only matters what YOU think. that's all it takes to mature a bit, is realizing that other peoples' opinions DON'T MATTER AT ALL. just so you know;)
