It is okay but when I started having problems with my machine the Yahoo support technician said it sounded like I had some malicious spy-ware and directed me to Ad-Aware. It takes longer to run and finds much more then Yahoo does and it is still free (at least the personal version) as long as you don't mind running it manually.

You can download it at - http://www.lavasoft.com/

by the way the malicious spy-ware came from one of those you have spy-ware pop-up ads that didn't get blocked

You need more than one anti spyware. You also need anti virus as they are different programs and pick up different problems.
These are free, use all of them;
http://www.ewido.net - AVG(Ewido) anti trojan.
http://www.safer-networking.org - Spybot Search and Destroy anti spyware. Use the Teatimer settings to protect Internet Explorer, and the Immuniser to stop malware getting on your pc.
Spywareblaster works with Internet Explorer and Firefox. It won't uninstall spyware that is already on your pc, but it will prevent hijacks and other malicious changes to your browser.

Plus;
http://www.lavasoft.com - Ad-Aware SE Personal anti adware

I think it just uses the nortons one as part of the pack. So in thoery it is as good as nortons for finding spyware.
Which I don't think is not very good.

I use it but with other spyware programs as well - spybot and lavasoft adware personal 9 these guys catch a lot more and there are free

yahoo anti-spy is a handy little extra spyware program that sits in your toolbar,i use it as a quick scanner and cookie crumbler,so i can clean the p.c of cookies and any low grade spyware before i exit internet explorer
as a spyware program,i would give it 7 out of 10,i wouldnt just rely on it as your only protection,but alongside spybot and windows defender it is a good little spyware scanner
good luck

I would recommend Defender from Microsoft. It's free! & works great!

Yeah, but the point is that when you have something "infected" it won't download into your 'puter, and it won't tell you there may be something wrong with that email - it just will stop downloading, and you'll have to log into Yahoo site and delete it yourself.
