This year for the talent show, I want to dedicate a song for my grandfather, my cousin, and my aunt who died this year due to medical complications. I want to sing something very sad yet beautiful.

I was thinking of singing "Over the Rainbow" (Eva Cassidy style), since it's about escaping from problems of the real world and going to a place of hope and joy.Does anybody have any other suggestions?

"Bridge Over Troubled Water" by Simon and Garfunkel (70's duo) is one of my favorite songs ever.
"Lullabye (Good Night, My Angel)" by Billy Joel is tender and beautiful.
"In My Life" was done by the Beatles and later Bette Midler, and that is a lovely song too. It was used in the movie "For the Boys."
An arrangement of "You are my Sunshine" could be very pretty, if you don't to the part about her cheating on him.

I don't know if you are interested, but there are some very pretty old hymns that would work too. My favorites are "In the Garden" and "It is Well with My Soul."

That's exactly what I was thinking. It would be sweet.

Also, 'Across the Universe' by the Beatles might be a nice little dedication.

And it breaks my heart you lost so many people in such a short amount of time. It's sweet you want to remember them this way!
