Single lane of traffic-move to the right
-(left in the UK)

Multi-lane- Move to the opposite side that the emergency vehicle is in(just get out of the way..)

To the right if you can. Each case is determined by the traffic. In a traffic jam, it is best to let the emergency vehicle maneuver and go in the wrong lanes and you should stay put.

in the US...you pull over to the right.

i had a cop give me a hard time for that once because i couldn't cross three lanes of traffic so i just stopped where i was. you can actually get a ticket for "failure to pull to the right" in some states.

If you are in a single lane, move to the right. If you are in a double lane and in the left I would either stop or move into the median.
