I met a gentleman from Libya and he gave me his email (I am in USA) but it doesnt work for me, says he has not yahoo account. the end just reads @yahoo.com being it is Libya should there be something after this to say it is out of my country??

It depends which yahoo portal he first registered at when he created an account. If you register at yahoo.co.uk you get a .co.uk email address. You can also get other country specific email addresses. You don't have to have the same suffix on your email address that corresponds to your country. If he registered at yahoo.com then he'd have a .com email address, no matter where he lives. It's not like people tell the truth anyway on Yahoo - according to my account profile I live in Iraq but have a UK email address. It's not like they can prove otherwise!

It doesn't matter. if he registered it at a .com or a .net, then even though he lives in another country, it doesn't add an extension unless the domain name is country specific, such as france, .fr

no any nation can have .com it depends on your choice when signing up. I live in Egypt but yhere is no eg for yahoo or hotmail.

I have a libyan friend and his address is hisaddress@yahoo.com only
without any extension
may be he gave it wrongly or you copy it wongly.....
Even, it happens that lot of guys and women......lie online
